"Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film released in 2022. It is directed by Sam Raimi and serves as a sequel to "Doctor Strange" (2016) and a continuation of the events in the Disney+ series "WandaVision."

The brief story of the movie follows Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) as he faces a new and perilous mystical threat. After the events of "Avengers: Endgame," Strange is still trying to come to terms with the loss of his mentor, the Ancient One, and the responsibilities of being the Sorcerer Supreme. He's also grappling with a strained relationship with Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams).

When Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), experiences a devastating loss and is haunted by the memory of her children, she seeks out Strange for help. This leads to an unexpected and dangerous journey into the Multiverse, a concept that introduces the idea of parallel dimensions and alternate realities.

Throughout the film, Strange and Wanda encounter a host of mystical and malevolent threats, including the enigmatic villain, Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), who has become disillusioned with the way magic is used and is on a mission to restore the natural order of things. They also face an ancient, eldritch evil known as Shuma-Gorath.

The movie delves deep into the world of the Multiverse, exploring different realities and dimensions, and it's filled with mind-bending visuals and magical battles. It also explores the themes of grief, redemption, and the consequences of tampering with the fabric of reality.

"Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is a significant installment in the MCU, as it not only continues Doctor Strange's journey but also sets the stage for future developments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, introducing new possibilities and challenges in the Multiverse.
